Alice Starr McFarland began her career over 15 years ago stilt walking in a flamingo costume for The Shoestring Theatre in Portland, ME. Since then, she has been recognized for her distinctly original physical characterizations and her imaginative portrayal of the everyday woman.

Alice launched her New York career by co-developing and starring in the one-woman show Monster at the Red Room in 2000.

In the past five years, she has performed in workshops and readings of both published and emerging work. She is dedicated to collaboration with other inspired artists and brings creativity, organization, and integrity to the work.

Along with earning her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Southern Maine, Alice is accomplished in the techniques of Michael Chekhov and Sanford Meisner. A long-time advocate of theatre in education, she created and continues to direct a successful theatre arts program for teens. When not onstage, she dedicates her time to teaching, volunteering, yoga, and developing new theatre works.

Alice is currently completing her MFA in Acting from Brooklyn College where she also teaches at the undergraduate level.
